Creamy pasta with Conwy mussels
You will need:
Conwy mussels, White wine, Double cream, Pasta, Turmeric powder, Fresh chives
Pre-cook your Conwy mussels by steaming in a large pan.
Place half a glass of dry white wine with the double cream and a pinch of turmeric into a pan over a medium heat. Bring to the boil then reduce the heat and simmer for 3 – 4 minutes.
Cook your favourite pasta as advised and then add, along with your cooked mussels, to the sauce and simmer for a further 2 – 3 minutes ensuring the mussels are warmed through.
Find yourself a large bowl, pour everything in and top with some chopped chives. Serve with a home-made garlic bread.
Mussels are 100% safe to eat as long as you follow two simple guidelines. Before cooking, discard any mussels if the shells don’t close when tapped. After cooking, discard any mussels that don’t open. Enjoy!
